D.J. Hill

DJ has served as a chief executive and/or board member for 12 electronics companies around the world including Storage Technology, National Semiconductor, Micro Component Technology, InterConnect Foundry, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Cerprobe, and Silicon Border Development. DJ has managed these operations around the globe including living and working in Southeast Asia for 10 years. He has also led efforts in public offerings, mergers, and acquisitions. He holds a BSIE degree from New Mexico State University.

Daniel Jaurigue
President

Daniel began his career in wireless in 1990 with one of Verizon Wireless’ predecessor companies. An early responsibility was implementing one of the first RF safety programs for cellular technicians and contractors. Daniel's experience leading RF engineering, performance, operations, and technical support teams includes responsibility for all engineering and operations for the largest region of Verizon Wireless with an annual budget of over $500 million. He holds a BSEE from UC Davis and an MBA from USC and has been licensed as a PE in electrical engineering in the State of California.

Mark Saab
Chief Financial Officer

Mark is based at our International HQ in Dubai. He has spent nearly 26 years working in investment banking and private banking with global and regional banks such as HSBC, Merrill Lynch, Bank of America, Emirates NBD and JPMorgan. During his investment banking career, he focused on corporate clients in several sectors such as TMT, Oil and Gas, Financial Services and Real Estate. More specifically, in the telecommunication sector, he advised numerous incumbent operators in Europe such as Turk Telecom, BTC, and Hellenic Telecom on their privatization, and in the GCC he worked with clients such as Etisalat, Zain, Saudi Telecom and Qtel on M&A and capital raising. Prior to joining Safe Dynamics, Mark worked for HSBC in the DIFC covering private banking clients. He received a BA with Distinction in Economics from the University of Rochester, and an MBA from Yale University, School of Management.

Mark Oberle
Vice President, Platform Architecture and Artificial Intelligence

Mark has designed, implemented, and deployed numerous globally distributed information management systems for a variety of government Defense and Intelligence customers. Focusing on artificial intelligence, geospatial, and cybersecurity systems, Mark efficiently aligns system architectures with enterprise business needs. With a background in software development and architecture, Mark utilizes facilitated workshops and Agile architecture techniques to rapidly create scalable system designs. He holds a BS in Mathematics from Cal State San Marcos and an MS in System Architecture and Engineering from University of Southern California.

Bharat Shah
Vice President, Technology

Bharat has 29 years of experience driving development, integration, trials and commercialization of Products and Services globally including having led global projects and new technology initiatives, demonstrating an ability to ensure business needs to drive the application of technology solutions. Bharat is experienced in working with companies in the areas of Semiconductor Technology, Wireless Service Providers, Network Equipment Vendors, Advanced Technology companies, and Global Industry Standards Organizations amongst others. These expertise have been applied in working for companies such Qualcomm, Nokia and AT&T-Semiconductor.

Betul Yirik
Managing Director, UAE

Betul studied International Relations and graduated with an honorary degree. As Country Manager Betul produced annual reports on the investment landscapes of Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Azerbaijan, and the UAE. In her position as a Managing Director, Betul successfully managed the company’s expansion into nine new markets within three years. Her responsibilities included the management of all employees in the region, and business development and revenue growth. Betul was charged with the organization of high-level events the World Economic Forum on behalf of Azerbaijan. Her outstanding performance won an award from the President of Azerbaijan.

Serdar Ergun
Managing Director, International 

Serdar Ergun was one of the early employees at Qualcomm, where he ran a $1 billion OmniTRACS operation and various CDMA lines. He also managed the Customer Service for CDMA phones and OmniTRACS equipment, CDMA Semiconductors and Government Systems. Serdar held senior management positions in CDMA, OmniTRACS, Test & Field Engineering, Sales and Marketing for Qualcomm. He is a certified RF Instructor and holds a BSEE in RF Engineering.

Drew Fountain
Founder and Executive Vice President of Business Development

Drew Fountain was instrumental in the development of Safe Dynamics. He managed construction loans ($10M - $400M) for Wells Fargo. Drew opened his own construction and civil engineering firm and became a prime contractor for the major wireless carriers. Drew’s passion to protect workers from RF radiation overexposure at wireless sites became the foundation for Safe Dynamics. Drew is a certified RF trainer, RF signal analysist specialist, and a licensed California contractor. He majored in Civil Engineering at University of California Irvine and was the VP of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) for the UC Irvine ASCE Chapter.

Dave Anthony
Executive Vice President, Tower Division

Dave served as a Telecommunications Systems Technician for the US Air Force for six years, followed by communications industry positions in both wire line and wireless from 1978 to 1987. In 1983 he formed Shenandoah Tower Service maintaining and constructing towers for all the major wireless carriers in the Mid-Atlantic States, selling the company to Site Resources, LLC of Apex, NC in 2017. Dave is a former board member of the Telecommunications Industry Registered Apprenticeship Program, a former member of the Telecommunications Industry Association. As CEO of Shenandoah Tower Service, Dave was a founding member of the National Association of Tower Erectors where he served as a Board of Director.

Octavio Garza
Managing Director, Latin America

Octavio has 20 years of experience in Marketing, Sales and High-volume manufacturing. Most recently the President of Silicon Border a 4,500-acre Science Park on the CA/MX border, before that he was Deputy Director of Sony Electronics in North America, with over $2 billion in annual sales. Octavio is recognized in the Mexican Electronics Industry serving as President of Electronics and Telecommunications efforts and various roles with the State and Private Universities. Garza holds a Biomedical Engineering Degree from Ibero-American University and an MBA from the Peter Drucker School at Claremont Graduate School.

Luis Miguel Martínez Cervantes, PhD
Vice President, Technology, Latin America

Luis is currently the President of the Advisory Committee of the Mexican Telecommunications Regulator the Federal Institute of Telecommunications. Under the philosophy of sharing infrastructure at the community level, he has promoted the use of broadband channels for Internet access in small communities. At a global level, he has provided the design of structures for network access point antennas and elements for the rapid deployment of community networks as disaster mitigation, a member of the dynamic DC3 coalition of the United Nations Internet Governance Forum, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Internet Society with offices in Washington and Geneva. He is an Electronics and Communications Engineer, Master in Industrial Measurement Systems, Doctor of Engineering, a certified legal expert (Perito) for the Mexican Government, also an academic and researcher at the Universidad Iberoamericana.

Claudia Cruz
Director Baja, MX Operations

Claudia is responsible for all company administrative issues as well as executing company communications initiatives including execution of marketing efforts. Claudia has previous experience in the Mexican Maquiladora Companies including Management and Operations for Sony Mexico. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science from UABC and a Master Degree in Human Resources from Cetys University in Mexicali, Mexico.

Richard J. Burnheimer
Executive Vice President Finance & Risk Management

Rick has over 30 years experience in finance & risk management in the telecom industry. His career began in the finance and treasury areas of Ford and Black & Decker. He was the Director of Finance & Treasurer for C-TEC Corporation where he began his career in the telecom and wireless sector. He was Vice President & Treasurer of American Mobile Satellite Corporation (Motient) before becoming the Director of Risk Management and Environmental, Health & Safety for Sprint Nextel. He received his BA in Economics from Washington & Jefferson College and his MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.

Thomas L. Babcook
Vice President of Finance & Treasury, CPA & CGMA

Tom has held CFO positions in development, construction, regional multi-unit housing facilities. Since 2011 he has operated his own Accounting and Tax consulting firm. His focus is on emerging growth companies, and middle market companies. Prior to 2011 he was Principal of Smith Schafer & Company 120-member team of professional accountants and CFO of several financial services companies. Mr. Babcook has been a consultant to CPA firms and businesses on Sarbanes-Oxley, internal control accountability. Tom graduated from the Carlson School of Business, University of Minnesota and holds a B S in Accounting.

Bing Maniquis
Vice President, Human Resources

Bing has over ten years of global Human Resources management experience, including being employed by a multi-site international corporation headquartered in San Diego and provided professional support to Caterpillar (CAT) manufacturing as well as other high-tech companies. Bing Holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas and Professional Certificate in HR Management from UC San Diego.

Thomas Hurley
Vice President, Investor Relations and Corporate Secretary

Prior to joining SAFE-D Tom managed the paralegal efforts with a law firm specializing in real estate. Tom actively managed over 600 case files; acquisition and administration of document and data processing software; drafting of the firm’s correspondence, contracts, and case briefs. Tom holds a BS in Finance from the University of Nevada.

Gil Amelio, PhD
Chairman Emeritus

Gil began his career at AT&T Bell Laboratories; he has been a Partner of Sienna Ventures since 2001. Gil was Chairman and CEO of Jazz Technologies, Inc. (a semiconductor foundry), Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Beneventure Capital. Prior to that, he served as CEO of Apple from 1996 to 1997 and National Semiconductor from 1991 to 1996. He was a Director of AT&T from 1995 to 2013 (including his appointment as a Director of Pacific Telesis Group in 1995 which was acquired by AT&T in 1997). He is currently a Director of InterDigital, Inc., Galectin Therapeutics, Inc. and AirWire Technologies. Dr. Amelio graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology where he earned his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in physics and is responsible for a number of electronics patents including the first practical charge couple device designs for capturing images in digital form.

Roger Egan
Member of the Board

Roger is an investor and consultant to hedge funds and private equity firms. He currently works with Kohlberg & Company as a Senior Advisor. In 2005 Mr. Egan co-founded Integro, an insurance brokerage firm serving as CEO until September of 2008. Before Integro, Roger was President of Marsh, Inc., the world’s largest insurance brokerage with over $6 billion in revenue and 43,000 employees in 120 countries. During his 32 years, he held a number of senior positions. Mr. Egan is a past member of the Board of Overseers of the School of Risk Management at St. John's University and a past Director of the American Institute for Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters, The Insurance Institute of America and Sedgwick CMS. Mr. Egan received an A.B. in mathematics, with honors, from Boston College and an M.B.A. from the Stern Business School at New York University and the Program for Management Development at Harvard and Stanford.

Nathan Meltzer
Member of the Board

Nathan is an entrepreneur and investor with private companies in the US and Mexico. His businesses include materials for luxury homes and owning and operating leading medical equipment such as magnetic resonance imaging equipment (MRI) in hospitals, medical practices, and other medical facilities. Nathan also developed a unique financial approach to make this expensive equipment more accessible and affordable to all. Earlier in his career he was a Managing Director of a twin plant (USA and Mexico) manufacturing automotive parts and was a consultant to the industrial sector. Nathan graduated from Ibero-American University (SJ, Jesuits), Mexico City, with a degree in Industrial Engineering and a double major in finance.

Matt Williams
Member of the Board

Matt was the first employee at SAFE-D and was responsible for setting up the company’s original financial model and assisting in developing the technology and protocol for the safety solution it now offers. He has over 15 years of experience in finance of a publicly traded Fortune 500 and private equity companies. He began his career as an analyst for a real estate development company acquiring, developing, managing, and disposing of multiple assets, at a $400 million annual rate. Most recently he has been responsible for all budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and reporting of a $7 billion multi-state commercial real estate portfolio, as well as underwriting over $1 billion in transactions.
